- Application Criteria: The following are updates to the application criteria. A full copy of the “Application Criteria” can be found under the Resources section; this document may be updated prior to the 2025 PMF Application or after 2025 Finalists are announced.
- New Degrees Added: Area Studies (Americas), Artificial Intelligence, Kinesiology/Exercise Science, and Literature

- Login.gov: The PMF Program has implemented the use of Login.gov for multi-factor authentication when users create their applicant user accounts and access the Apply Site of the PMF Talent Management System (TMS) at https://apply.pmf.gov. A link to instructions can be found on the Apply Site's login screen.
- Potential applicants can proactively create a user account at Login.gov (https://login.gov/) in preparation for the PMF application. Be sure to use the same email address for both your Login.gov and PMF application user accounts.
- Preferred Name: In addition to legal first name, the application now optionally collects applicant preferred first name, allowing the name individuals use to be reflected in the electronic places where names are displayed. The 2025 PMF Applicant Handbook has been updated to reflect this addition.
