2026 Application

The PMF Class of 2026 Application will take place in the fall of 2025. Application dates will be announced during the summer of 2025. Class Years are associated to the Federal Government's fiscal years. For example, the 2026 PMF application takes place in the fall of 2025.

A PMF Applicant Handbook for the 2026 PMF application will be posted on the Resources webpage shortly after 2026 PMF application dates are announced. This handbook details what’s new for the 2026 PMF application, the annual application process, explains eligibility requirements, required documentation, provides an overview of the assessment process, and more. This document may be revised with additional details ahead of the PMF Class of 2026 Application launching. The Handbook will remain available until 2026 Finalists are announced.

Timeline

NOTE: The dates below are approximate, adjusted based on volume of applicants, and subject to change. Please monitor for any updates. All deadlines are based on Eastern Time (ET).

The PMF Class of 2026 Application opened and closed at Noon (Eastern Time).
Approximately 4-6 weeks after application closes

All Applicants notified of their results and Semi-Finalists selected
Approximately 1 week after Semi-Finalists are selected

Semi-Finalists schedule their Fellows Structured Interview (FSI) Assessment
Approximately 10-12 weeks after Semi-Finalists are selected

Fellows Structured Interviews (FSIs) Assessment conducted for Semi-Finalists. This date range may vary based on the number of Semi-Finalists selected, availability of Assessors, and schedule.
Approximately 6 weeks after FSIs conclude

Below is a summary of changes expected for the 2025 application cycle:

  • Application Criteria: The following are updates to the application criteria.  A full copy of the “Application Criteria” can be found under the Resources section; this document may be updated prior to the 2026 PMF Application or after 2025 Finalists are announced.
    • New Degrees Added: General/Interdisciplinary Studies and Audio Visual Production
