The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) has posted proposed regulatory changes to the Pathways Programs, which includes the Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) Program.  The “proposed rule” can be found in the Federal Register at https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2023/08/16/2023-17372/pathways-programs.

OPM has also assembled a set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on the proposed changes and posted to OPM’s website at https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/hiring-information/students-recent-graduates/#url=Pathways-FAQs.

We encourage all to review the proposed rule and FAQs.  The public comment period ends on October 2, 2023.

These proposed changes are from OPM’s Employee Services, the policy side of OPM, and not from the PMF Program Office.

If you have ANY questions or comments, please click on the “Submit a Formal Comment” at https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2023/08/16/2023-17372/pathways-programs, before the comment period ends and not to the PMF Program Office.

OPM will review and consider comments before publishing the final rule.  Any promulgated changes will be implemented as stated in the final rule.
