Become a PMF

2025 Application

The PMF Class of 2025 Application dates will be posted here when announced. Typically, the application dates are announced sometime in June.

The application will be accessible via an announcement on USAJOBS (www.USAJOBS.gov) once the application opens.

Changes effective with the 2025 Application will be listed under the “What’s New for 2025?” section below.

A PMF Applicant Handbook is posted on the Resources webpage. This handbook details the annual application process, explains eligibility requirements, required documentation, and provides an overview of the assessment process. This document may be revised with additional details ahead of the PMF Class of 2025 Application launching. Please monitor the handbook for any updates.

In addition, please review the Eligibility, Application Process, Assessment Process, and FAQs webpages for additional information about the application.

Timeline

NOTE: The dates below are approximate, adjusted based on volume of applicants, and subject to change. Please monitor for any updates. All deadlines are based on Eastern Time (ET).

Date/Timeframe Description
Approximately 2-weeks The PMF Class of 2025 Application will open and close at Noon (Eastern Time) during the dates posted. Dates will be added here when ready.
Approximately 4-6 weeks after application closes

All Applicants notified of their results and Semi-Finalists selected
Approximately 1 week after Semi-Finalists are selected

Semi-Finalists schedule their Fellows Structured Interviews (FSI)
Approximately 8-10 weeks after Semi-Finalists are selected

Fellows Structured Interviews (FSI) assessment conducted for Semi-Finalists; interviews are expected to start in early-November
Approximately 4 weeks after FSIs conclude

What's New for 2025?

Below is a summary of changes expected for the 2025 application cycle:

  • Application Criteria: The following are updates to the application criteria.  A full copy of the “Application Criteria” can be found under the Resources section; this document may be updated prior to the 2025 PMF Application or after 2025 Finalists are announced.
    • New Degrees Added: Area Studies (Americas), Artificial Intelligence, Kinesiology/Exercise Science, and Literature
    • Revised Degrees (revision appears in italics): Public/Global Health/Policy, Religion/Theology, and Aviation/Transportation
