Danielle Carnes: 2016 PMF

Danielle Carnes (formerly Green) began her career at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in August 2016, and has worked over her tenure to improve decision making by increasing transparency and streamlining internal processes. She is passionate about driving management through results and thoughtful analysis, and has been grateful to engage in numerous Bureau and Agency level efforts to improve decision making. She completed her PMF rotations at the USAID mission in Egypt and supporting the House Rules Committee.

Danielle is a founder and the 2019 Chair of the USAID Gender and Sexual Minorities (GSM) employee resource group, an organization dedicated to increasing the recruitment, retention and promotion of LGBT+ staff. GSM has helped mobilize a worldwide network of advocates to promote the health, safety and professional advancement of the gender and sexual minority workforce at USAID, and to champion human rights and dignity at all the missions in every country USAID works. She was recognized as Glifaa Employee of the Year in 2017 for her work advocating for gender minorities at USAID, and looks forward to continuing to champion rights for all staff.
